It doesn't seem to do anything.. it doesn't appear to be a light or a button, and the previous owner said nothing about it either.
Your guess will be appreciated.. sarcasm welcome!

Looks like it could be one of those anti theft devices that you touch a thing on your key chain to it then it activates a relay that will allow your truck to start with the key. The last owner could have lost the dongle and disconnected it. Follow the wire and see what it is or was connected to at the other end.

That's a great guess. Do you think it would run up to the ignition?
I know it has a compustar alarm.. Not sure if it was wired for a remote starter though, either. Can't seem to get it to work (remote start)if it is. Maybe the two have something in common

Was the truck previously used for commercial purposes? Some company vehicles will have an ID reader that you have to scan in before you can start.

Yes! Ive have figured it out!! After chasing the wires I found a unit called DEI model:506t
After a little detective work on google, I found them for sale online: They were described as audio/glass break sensors. And the picture matches the little doo-dad that's now being referred to as "the trucks belly button".
    Thanks everyone for your help
    ..Now I can sleep peacefully
