I see a bunch of posts about the latch breaking or falling out, but in my case the latch just seems like it lost its spring. It will catch if it feels like it but sometimes it stays in and doesn't catch. Is this an easy fix with a spring from Ace or something? I can just start taking stuff apart this weekend, but would appreciate any tips.

Incidentally, the spring also seem to be gone from the rear sliding window. I never open it though, so it's less of a concern.

    The part is replaceable.
    I haven’t had mine apart.

Every once in a while, If I don’t press in on the CENTER of the latch.
It kind of wants to get stuck in the pressed in position.
So, I try to always press in on the center of the latch.

This may not be your problem. If it isn’t, it doesn’t look to hard to get to it and take a look
