Anyone know the best way to fix this? I tried some really strong glue for plastic. Didn’t work. Seems like a pretty crappy design.

I wouldn't say it's a crappy design. I've managed not to break mine for over 15 years...

But you could try replacing the plastic rod with all-thread or a small metal tube. Then, carve/grind out the part where that mounts to the main console. Gorilla glue or epoxy or something should be enough to hold the rod to the console.

Maybe not crappy. I’m just frustrated. I broke it trying to clean the console. I guess it just got a little fragile over time. Thanks though.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Either do what jbrandt said or check on ebay for a used console. thats all i can think of.

My daughter man handled that compartment on the back of my center console. I asked Gunny on here for a price just for the part that was broke and it was $59.75 shipped. I don't need it that bad! Lol!

get hinges from hardware store, 2 self-tapping screws and 2 flush mount bolts and matching nuts. You're done. Thats how I would fix it.

Yeah, that's a bit steep! That's definitely a case for cruising the junk yards...
