Has anyone removed (or seen a video of removal) of the center console? In particular, looking to find out how to remove the front seat cup holders so I can potentially design and print a replacement that will hold my coffee cups (yes, plural, I have a problem) and not destroy the paint on them.

It looks like the trim piece around the cup holders might just pop off but I've fallen for that before. Don't want to go breaking stuff on a truck that I have had less than 2 weeks and just approaching 1K miles. Who's taken the leap?

Thanks. Can't quite tell from the oic if the trim around the top of the cup holder just pops off but seems likely.

Well, the trim piece does indeed pop off with gentle application of a plastic trim removal tool. The actual cup holder, on the other hand, will require removal of the center console to detach from underneath. Not going to be able to do that in the near term. At least I won't be pissing the wife off buying a 3D printer just to make a new cup holder for my bran new truck (yet). ;)

LMAO. I already have way too many open IOUs with her. Not sure how she outside up with me so I try not to push it (or at least choose carefully when to push it).

OK. I decided to go ahead and see how difficult it would be to remove the center console to be able to pull the cup holder out and start designing a new one. Since I threw out my back, I didn't completely pull it out but the process is pretty straight forward for the rear section. Remove the four bolts in the storage compartment. You then have to pry up the surround for the shifter. The entire top panel just pops up with gentle prying using a trim removal tool. There are 2 screws holding the rear section of the console on that you can access once the shifter cover is up. At this point, the rear console just has to come up and backward but the grab bar is in the way. Didn't quite get to pulling that but may try next weekend if I can find a 3D scanner and printer for a reasonable price. Will have to redesign the cup holder and the trim around the top but I think I can get a bit more room and leave out those useless "fingers" that make it so difficult to get a cup in there.
