    Hello,
Has anyone here added a center console from a 2001-2004 Tacoma to their 1995.5-2000 Tacoma when they swapped the bench seats for bucket seats? I'm planning on doing the bench to bucket seat swap, but I want the arm rest from the 2001-2004 Tacomas next to the seats, and I was wondering what it looked like. If someone has a link to a thread or to some pictures that would be great. Thank you! I'll provide a picture of the center console I'm talking about so that my question isn't confusing. Also, I have a manual transmission if that makes a difference.

Everything will bolt up, all the holes are there. There may be a chance you'd need to drill a certain hole out but it's not that hard.

You need the console bracket to fit a 2001-2004 console, it's an 'S' shaped flat bracket.

Okay thank you! What I'm wondering is if the screw holes will match up to this one? Or whether I would have to make some adjustments, which I don't mind. I just want to know that it will work.

I believe that console is shorter than the center console one, you might have to swap

What do you mean by shorter? Like the width of my console is short than the width of the other one? Or vice versa? Would it not work or would I have to make some hefty adjustments?

The length of your current console may be shorter because it is made for a single cab. I’m not sure this is the case for yours, but I know this is a problem when swapping to consoles in a single cab. All you have to do is find a console out of an extended cab.

I see what you mean now. I feel that the console might not reach the back of my truck (which is what I want). I'm going to give it a shot and see what happens. But, I have a theory. Lets say I attempt to swap it and my console is too short. That's fine. But, what if I get the console where the shifter sits from an extended cab or even a 4x4 4runner (that's manual transmission obviously), and then cut off the leather from that console because they tend to have holes for 2 shifters (for the transmission and the 4x4) and then replace it, and the bolt everything on? I feel that this is what I might have to do, and it might work. I just have to experiment with it a little.

They make consoles for 5-speed RWD with a center console. That’s what’s in my other truck. You just have to find one.

The center console will fit just fine in a single cab too.

Are they for 1999 and below first gens? Or only for the first gens that were made from 2001-2004? How does it look like if you don't mind posting a picture?

My 1998 5-Lug SR5 v6 RWD project before I stripped it. As you can see the console is indeed too short, it’s the same one you have. There’s a little filler piece on both ends.

did you end up doing anything with the center console? I am looking for one just like the one you posted on the first post. Mind sharing where you bought it? Cant find anything at my local junk yards, and not paying 200 on ebay lol

Has anyone tried to swap bench seats to replace buckets?
