Thanks for the business and bumping the thread! Tacoma organizers are still our most popular Vehicle OCD products.

I bought the double and the grid last summer. Got annoyed by finding an easy way to lift the tray while driving, and came up with this. A year later and very happy with both the products and my mod to it.

I really didn't think to say that mine is an authentic OCD product, but it now seemed necessary. Great vendor, great product

FYI - Yours is not the original American made Vehicle OCD tray. Yours is one of the many Chinese imposters. Based on the price of the cheap copies online the current trade wars must not include center console organizers.

Like I say, love mind (primarily the design) and it works Great. The cost didn't enter into my decision much, if any

Is there any quality related reasons not to buy the cheaper "chinese" versions?

To answer your question directly without getting on my soapbox.

    1. The tray liners in the bottom of the tray are different materials making them functionally and aesthetically different.
    • Salex Organizers tray has:
      • Quality custom molded TPE liners in the bottom of each compartment.
      • Liners are a perfect "press" fit keeping them in the tray even when upside down, but removable when needing to clean.
      • Liners have a diamond plate texture that looks great in the Tacoma.
      • Liners are soft enough to be grippy and dampen rattling but stiff enough not to wrinkle in the tray.
    • Chinese tray has:
      • Liners are made of vinyl and are very soft, almost "gooey".
      • Liners may not lay flat in the tray and tend to wrinkle because they are so soft.
      • Liners collect dirt and dust easily because of the soft sticky vinyl material.
      • Vinyl liners will fail over time in a hot/cold vehicle. Material is pennies per pound vs TPE at ~$1 per pound.
    2. Do you want the phone cord cutout in the bottom of the main compartment? Most phones don't fit and the cord pass through notch in the Tacoma console is on the other side.
    3. How useful is the coin compartment when you pick up the tray to get underneath and dump the coins? Also, it is not sized for US coins.
    4. The Vehicle OCD tray(s) does not smell like imports sometimes do.

Remember Vehicle OCD products are 20% off when you buy 2 or more on Amazon. If you want more than one tray, Vehicle OCD products are very competitive. Lastly, the Chinese have not copied our glove box organizer yet. If you want that, buy 2 or more and the price is right for better quality. https://www.amazon.com/vehicleocd

No shit guys, you can order just about anything from China cheaper than a lot of USA made stuff. That being said, I think it’s pretty classless posting how you bought a $13 dollar one here in this thread. You want to be frugal or a cheap ass that’s fine. You have that right.

I bought the Salex tray when it first came out. Pretty sure it was the first one available. I could be wrong but I know there wasn’t all the cheap ones that are now available. Plus I’d rather support someone who’s active on this forum and an American than someone overseas if possible.

Just installed my genuine ones this morning. Thanks for the discount on multiple products @salex .

Fit and finish are great and the price is totally reasonable

Salex Organizers has developed all Tacoma center console and glove box organizers first. There were no organizers for Tacoma when I designed the Gen2 Tacoma organizer in 2012. Without the help of TacomaWorld members and the support of the forum Vehicle OCD™ products would not exist. The unfortunate result of coming up with good products is becoming a target for the Chinese.

Here are some threads in addition to this one getting our products started.

Gen2 center console organizer - our first product
    Gen2 glove box organizer
    Gen2 center console tray

    Gen3 center console organizer
    Gen3 center console tray
    Gen3 glove box organizer

I don’t know. Apparently I bought a cheap Chinese one almost a year ago now. At the time I figured they were all the same just different design options. I liked the design of the I bought and still do. It fits great and has held up fine. Really not much that can go wrong with it from what I see.

If it's within 90% of the same quality and a good bit cheaper i'd rather support that. Was just wondering whether there was a big difference in overall build.

I've got the glove box organizer and really like it. I've held off on the center console organizer because I wasn't sure about the top tray, but seeing this I think I'm going pull the trigger on these.

Replaced my double tray with the single. Did not like taking the tray out to access the bottom area. I guess it it how each of us use the space. Much happier with the single for now but that may change in the future.
