Funny, if you changed a few words and product generations in this, I'd almost swear you were an engineer from Toyota

But in all seriousness, way to take advantage of an opportunity and make a fantastic product!!!

I really like your idea. This is the mount I was running in my diesel Mercedes:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004M8ST3Q/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I loved this one, because it clamped under the bolt that holds the seat to the floor, and I could bend it to the perfect position for both my hand and viewing position. However, because the shaft was so stiff, the phone holder would shake like Mike Tyson on Adderall (not to mention those 3L diesel engines weren't the smoothest at any RPM). I like that yours has a much more sturdy base, way easier to install, and yours doesn't come from overseas. Props to you!

By the way, if this takes off and you plan on expanding, what about adding a QI charger to this? It's a nice feature on the 3rd Gens, so I'm sure there would be some people here with 2nd Gens that would love to have that feature as well.

    For 25$, I'd give it a try.
    Moto x pure edition 2015.
    153.90 mm x 76.20 mm x 11.06 mm
PLESON [Tou] Motorola Moto X Pure Edition clear case.
Adds about 1/32 of an inch additional thickness. If you need more precision measurements, let me know I can dial caliper it and convert to mm.

This will probably be the next phone I pick up haha. If you have a set of calipers , could you just get the outside width and thickness (about 1.4" up from the bottom of the phone) with the case on and we can get one made. Motorola is good at listing dimensions that define the curved back well.

    Thanks,
    Tim

Sure will. Do you want side and center thickness?

@Jarod888 Yeah both would be helpful as it give me a good idea of curvature. Motorola does a pretty good job of giving these dimensions on their site but it doesn't hurt to double check!

@kgarrett11 I got one if you want one!

Your dock is en route to the post office in about 20 minutes.

For the thickness on the side:
300 thousandths or about 7.62 mm
    In the center:
450 thousandths or about 11.43 mm

I received mine from @T MAC yesterday. This thing is fantastic! This is a great, inexpensive way to secure your phone and a great use of the space. Great job Tim!
