You guys have me tempted now to go with it. Can anyone report on vibration, or is it so sturdy that there is no vibration? I don't like the idea of mounting something that low and away from my peripheral vision but, in spite of the fact that I have an AirDock and it charges and keeps my phone in view along with the road, it vibrates like a bastard (mounted in the CD slot.).

No vibration issues with mine either and I live out in the country where there are still dirt roads. I am very pleased with how well my phone fits in the cradle. And I have a USB port right there to plug my phone into. I think it was a wise decision to go this route for me,

One of the big drawbacks is how it sits lower than your field of view with eyes on the road. On the flip side it sits in a really natural position (in my opinion) when you go to use the phone vs reaching across with two hands off the wheel to get your phone out of the phone holder stuck to your windshield, vent, etc. They are designed to be a snug fit, and the dock itself pops into the cubby insert with a bit of a "vacuum" fit almost as it bottoms out in the cubby. I haven't had the phone vibrate excessively in over a year and a half of use, but I did have the phone get knocked slightly loose from the cubby (passenger unbuckled to get onto the seat to get something out of the back at a light). I simply just pushed the insert back down and its rock solid.

I may have missed it amongst the pages.. but is there a model that works with the RAM mount 1" ball? Or would the additional weight of the arm and phone mount throw the CoG off too much?

    Hey Jay,

Truthfully I kind of abandoned the idea of the universal mount. It would add weight to the dock, but I bet it would still hold sturdy. Worse comes to worse one piece of double sided tape on the bottom of the dock towards the front would keep it in place. I've just been cranking out docks specific to peoples phone/case combo so far.

    Thanks,
    Tim

$25 shipped! Otterbox doesn't list case dimensions on their website but I would just go into the store and measure one there, only need a couple measurements.

Finally got mine today. Phone fits a smidge loose in the holder but it dose not rattle or fall out, so it is perfect IMO. it also lands perfectly in my peripheral vision, so should work great for GPS'ing on trips

Got mine today. Fits the console like a snug glove. I was a little worried about the bulky, heavy front part getting even heavier with the phone in it and popping out. No way. Huge piece of material right in the front corner locks it in nicely.

The phone fits in pretty snugly and deeply, and the holder makes it easy to stabilize your hand and input with your thumb.

    Hastily snapped pics:

@scocar Looking good, and I apologize again for the mixup - I need to learn to read before I start modifying the part files haha.

@TegoTaco Potentially yes. Most others are running cases and we've been doing custom combos - I've yet to have a repeat unfortunately for my sake haha (other than bare Iphones). Let me know what phone/case config you're running and I'll see if the specs are available online.
