Center dash vents

Do the 2 center dash vent tubes go directly or straight down into the top of the A/C evaporator box? Was wondering if I could insert the tube from a can of evaporator core cleaner down through the 2 vents then spray the foam into the vent tubes and it reach the evaporator box instead of shooting it up through the A/C drain tube.
