Well they're brand new so I hope there's no rust haha, I picked up some clear coat rust inhibitor as well. I'm really just concerned with rust not so much color. And I plan on using them so it'll need painting regularly

 

There will be an inherent amount of rust even if they are new, steel rusts just from moisture in the air. Unless you spray a rust neutralizer/primer, rust can continue to eat the steel under paint. I am a fan of clear coat over raw steel though. Easy to maintain too.

 

It'll prolly look good on my silver truck... I hate chrome tho soooo not sure how much ill like bare steel

 

What I used on mine. To prep all you need to do is sand the sliders, wipe down with alcohol rub, and spray. No need to primer.

 

That's a good idea. I do like the Bedliner look.

 

Yeah. It will look good with your silver. I have it on my rear chrome bumper as well and it has held up for about 10 months now with no issues.

So how are we all looking for saturday? What time in the morning should we all show up? I'm good for as early as whatever. I'm gonna head up to Spring City Wawa for coffee and breakfast sammich.

That is not so hard of a fix. Just remove inside door panel, block of wood and a hammer, bondo, sand, primer, sand, primer, paint, sand, paint, clear coat.

 

Well, if anyone wants to do something for saturday, I have a nice clear section of pavement by my house we can use. It will keep us out the gravel at Jason's Dads place since we are getting monsooned on Friday. If I can hook up with Jlink to get some fox shocks friday, I may put them on sat morn if they fit 5100's. Let me know guys, PM me for a # and Addy if you want to do any wrenching or mod stuff sat morn.

 

I am not going to making it saturday. We just got put back onto manditory OT. And I have not figured it out yet. Still thinking driveshaft carrier bearing, so I will be looking into a pillow block.

Looks A LOT better IMO, but it's not a professional job, I suck at bondo hehe just ask my old red mazda 626. Also the top baseball size dent is behind the cross brace so my dad says I need some sort of body spoon?

 

My company is actually yelling at me for working to much OT but at least they don't have a choice at the point in the game. I think what did me in was the one paycheck I got for my 80 hours of normal work and then the 47 hours of OT

I'm not too far from there steve - like 45min. But I could not get it as I already have a cap and also my truck is a Short Bed.

 

I know right. I already paid him thru PayPal. It is just too good of a deal to pass up.
