which style coil compressor you want? the one that goes down the center of the coil or the one that has two pieces that attach to the outside of the springs and you crank down. ill get either. rem i used to work for both autozone and advance. so i can pick it up fri or sat morning and return it when i get back in town. may not even take a deposit if the right person is working at advance that day.

Can you not get the coils mounted on shocks separately before doing the install?

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
get the ones that mount on the outside, and get an impact wrench. otherwise your hand will be super sore by the end of the day

Yes sir! This will save probably a total of an hour because the threads on the compressor are super tight and take forever to wrench down! Don't forget to wrench evenly though...

If you and Brian have room for one more to show up i might show up for a little bit...

Hey paul did you have a spare set of top plates that you used or did you reuse the ones on your truck? just wondering so if you reused i can ask you a thousand questions about taking those off and putting the new ones together, cus that looks like the route im gonna have to take. went to several parts stores last night and noone sells that top plate or at least its not called that. was gonna just buy 2 new ones so they could be put together before i went up to brian's.

i reused the stock ones. I do believe they are 90 bucks a piece from toyota. eff that. start compressing the coil and voila, take the top plate off. that easy.

Did one today.. 2 key notes to make.. If your doing your rear to then BE SURE to lift your truck high enough!!! When compressing the coils MAKE DAMN SURE you have an impact gun worth a damn!! If not.. well extend out your normal work time by 2 hours!

Well you're awesome! Cause this thing we used today took forever to clamp those coils down...

its about 15-20 minutes of back and forth between the two bolts. My 886's were so stiff the bolts were flexing to the point they bent in and touched the coil itself.

Yeah these stock ones today were making them bend outward! Really scary if you think about it.. It took us forever though.. I don't know what the problem was...

Me and Daniel swapped out his factory coils onto some Bilstiens for his 04'.. It was fun though.. That's where we also learned the more lift you have the easier it is to do the rear AAL..
