[Central Florida] 3rd Brake Light Safety Recall + Mold

Howdy, folks.

My 2017 Toyota Tacoma has gotten some incredibly smelly mold inside the cabin due to this 3rd light recall. Car has been sitting at the shop for 3 months now and Toyota corporate claims they only got 1 of the 3 parts they need to get it all finished up.

I’ve developed some breathing problems since I had to travel with the truck before I’d known they were providing their customers with a complimentary recall, and was aware the vehicle had a cabin leak.

I wonder if anyone know of similar issues? I’m completely lost since I have no need for a loaner that happens NOT to be a truck. Ah, and they’re blaming this whole thing on shipping delays or covid, still.

 

I noticed some water stains on the headliner of my 2016 and took in for the recall service yesterday (03/15/23). Unfortunately, they found light mold and now have to contact a third party company to clean out carpet, seats and headliner. Dealer is telling me best case scenario is weeks… I sure hope they’re exaggerating. I’m concerned about the truck just sitting in one spot without being turned on. Hoping the service advisor keeps his word on “turning it on every couple of days”

 

Get a lawyer and make Toyota pay for their negligence.
