So, I've been doing a lot of research regarding lifting my 2018 DCSB. I haven't gotten far enough to make decisions yet, but I am trying to locate a shop or two that is at least somewhat local to me to do the work.

I haven't seen a lot of recommendations for shops in Central Florda... I have seen a few in the South Florida area, but thought I'd see what you guys have to say.

I don't mind driving a bit for the install, if I have piece of mind that the shop knows what they are doing.

    Whatcha got?

    Thanks!

Umm, don’t pay a shop to do the work. Get a metric socket set, a metric wrench set, some jack stands, and do it yourself. It’s too simple of a job to pay someone to do it. Plus, you learn the components of your truck along the way. If you’re not sure of what you are doing, there are plenty of people on here that would be happy to help you out for a case of beer and some pizza.

Thank you, I might consider installing myself, but would prefer a shop if I can find one that is relatively convenient.

Just saying, you’re going to pay money that is better spent elsewhere if you have a shop do the install. The suspension on these trucks to too easy to have someone else do it. The front is literally a 45 minute job on each side and the rear can be done in an hour. A shop is going to charge you 4-6 hours of labor for it.

Bring me the truck and I’ll do it for $150.

I wish you were closer, I’d get you the beer the pizza and the cash! My neighbor drove up last week in a 2015 TRD. I think it sits better than mine and it’s eating me alive!!!

Top Trucks in Longwood has a pretty good reputation.

Just be mindful of the TSS when lifting.

Hmmmm pizza, beer, and saving $$$? Tempted but of course first concern is the “what if this voids my warranty and the Tss” question....but a 3” lift is needed imo. :turtleride:

+1 on the Tacoma needing some lift. I've been thinking about spacers and blocks. Just adding 2" or so. Yeah, some will say that's not the way to lift a truck but damn, complete lift kits are hella expensive for the Tacoma. Well, expensive to me as all things are relative...

BTW, no such such as "voiding your warranty." Adding a lift kit would possibly only result in Toyota denying a warranty claim related specifically to the non-OEM parts installed and OEM components -- and the dealership has to prove the non-OEM part was the cause of this issue. For example, Toyota could not deny a warranty claim for your wiper motor because you have a lift. They are not related whatsoever. Check out articles on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

To the OP, have you pulled the trigger on any lift yet???

I have not... I'm close to deciding what I want, but still have sorted out a shop to do the work.

If you would like you can call Doug's Alignment in Sanford, they install lift kits in the shop specializes in nothing but suspension work. They do alignments only stuff underneath the vehicle. My dad used to own the shop and sold it to one of the workers he had with him for the past 15 years. If you would like tell them Brent sent you from the Tacoma forum.
