Really appreciate all the comments and opinions.
@Norton my truck is being used as a training vehicle for the owner and his employees to learn on.l have no problem with this at all. They have already done 5-6 vehicles ahead of mine.Known the owner of the body/detail shop for 20 years and feel confident in his abilities. If any problems came up in the future,he would address the issue.
l don't know the brand of coating he is using, but he is giving me a warranty for 3 years.Again,l don't have any issue with this deal

I know you've asked Steve on this, but from my expeirence with ceramic coatings and depending on the product used, yes it does have benefits when it comes to offroad conditions. For example, ceramic coatings can prevent water, mud etc from sticking to the paint vs. paint that is unprotected. I've gone through semi-deep mud holes with a group and my truck looks like it got washed after leaving the hole b/c the water/mud simply runs off the surface that is ceramic coated. This property is also known as Hydophobic.

There are also cermaic coatings with "self healing" properties. This is the coating that gets scratched/marred (instead of the paint) and with water or heat from the sun (depending on the coating) it will actually "heal" itself. Below is a video of a coating that heals with water running over it as a visual example. All said, a ceramic coating can pay for itself after a weekend on the trail helping to prevent "pin striping".

Definitely! As @WebberLander's points out, in addition to shine (for show cars), ceramic coatings' hydrophobic properties make cleaning and paint maintenance much quicker/easier (for all vehicles) by providing a layer of protection for your clearcoat. Since it's considerably thicker, clear bra material provides a higher level of scratch/chip resistance but, IMO, most ceramics are easier to apply and they don't peel, yellow, or buckle on corners/edges.

Let me know if you'd like a recommendation on where to get it done locally.

That explains the bargain price and, since you're comfortable with what you're getting, it sounds like a win-win.

    +1 to all of this.

No money, all went to truck...
I did my own ceramic coating (Gtechniq) and it takes all day. The coating is hard and somewhat permanent and will trap any imperfections under it so it takes a lot of work to get your paint perfectly clean and polished. Doing my tacoma took possibly 8 hours but I'm super anal. It comes out great, coating is going on 2 years now only now starting to show some fading. Will need to be redone soon.

I see places promising 8 years, I am super super skeptical about that. THere's too much that can happen to your paint for it to last that long.
