My truck was a Toyota CPO and I would not pay one dime more than comparable trucks for it again. It's nice having the peace of mind of a warranty but actually getting warranty work done is another thing. The important things, like frame recalls, are covered regardless of CPO status. It basically gives you 12 months protection against major failure that they can't deny, but the automatic response to getting little things fixed or replaced is it's "typical wear and tear" and you have to push back.

CPO status is essentially an extended warranty program with inspections you (or your preferred mechanic) should be doing on any used-vehicle purchase anyway. It is by no means some magic wand that says the vehicle is any better than others.

Don't misunderstand; I have bought CPO vehicles and likely will again. Nothing wrong with buying one, just be realistic about what it means.
