What's going on fellow SoCal TW members? Just wanted to put out the word that I'm a certified welder (mig and tig) and can help any of you out if you need anything welding up on your trucks! I work out of my garage and have a mig welder, tig welder, drill press and bandsaw. If any of you need simple repairs or want to tackle a cool project together such as making bumpers, skid plates, rock sliders or maybe some cool bed racks or roof racks let me know! I do this mainly for fun and as a hobby so I won't charge nearly as much as a shop would, just enough to cover my materials and make acouple bucks. Hell I might even accept a cold 6 pack if there's not too much welding lol:cheers: I'm located in Huntington Beach so if anyone needs something just let me know!

The previous owner installed the Procomp 6" drop bracket lift on my truck. It gives the truck a good look but doesn't provide anymore clearance than stock, it rides a bit rougher, and id rather have a mid travel kit for offroad performance. It's a cool kit and gives the truck a good look but doesn't have any offroad performance benefits

No I have not, I did on my old Silverado though. It seems fairly simple, just make some tabs that would be welded in, cut the cab nice and clean and welder er up!

No tabs, just need to plasma or other means to cut out some plates (thats what I do) or buy some pre-made ones and cover the big hole that is left when cutting the cab mount open, also its best to angle the chop to try and follow the arch of the wheel for stuffed clearance. I have done almost 60 of them now, I do them so fast now all my customers just wait for it like an oil change ( a long one, haha)
Also depending on wheel size you will probably need to trim the fender flare and flatten the pinch weld in the wheelwell in order for it to clear properly.

Wonder why it doesnt ride good, should ride just like stock, did somebody change the front struts from stock?
If you want any info on what stuff works best for these trucks PM me if I can help so I dont cluster up your thread BS I have done every combination know to man on Yotas so I can tell you what works the best depending on budget obviously.
At least with that drop down lift on your rig you dont need a cab chop, haha.

Thanks for the info! Cool to see another dirtbike rider on here haha. As far as my ride goes, it just seems to be a really stiff ride. I'm curious if maybe the original owner put stiffer spring up front or something. For now I'm just going to deal with it though and get as much fun I can out of it for the time being, maybe later on I'll mess with it

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Definitely sub'd. Third garage welder on here, pretty awesome! Got any drawings/pics of anything you've done?

Would anyone be willing to help me weld up a coastal offroad rear bumper for my '04 Tacoma?
