It's built on 37s with leafs

I found a pretty built one on 37s in norcal last week on CL, might be the same one, but I think this guy wanted like 4100. I dont know, I have looked at about 500 of them, its hard to keep them straight.

Well y'all looks like I'm gonna have to sell the ole 82'.

My mom wants a new 4runner so she's just gonna give me her 97' 4runner to build with.

Now i need moar research..

 

OR.... Sell the 4runner and build the '82!

If you sold the 4runner for 5k, you could easily finish the '82.
RUF/Chevy 63's, 5.29s, lockrights F&R, chromoly front shafts, tires, sliders, bumpers = ~$5000

But selling the '82 might give you 2.5k, which won't get you very far on the 4runner.
Lift + Tires + sliders = ~$2.5k. Plus it'll be maybe 1/10th as capable.

 

Idk, i like the 4runner better man.... More equity to play with.

 

But this will be a trail rig for him and a '97 4runner isn't exactly a trail rig and would take A LOT of money to be as capable as a 1st gen Pickup.. It's really amazing at what these things can do, even relatively stock.. It takes an IFS rig w/ a locker to hang with my open/open '81 when we get in the rocks..

It would be cool to SAS the 3rd gen 4runner! And that is like a dream rig for me, but it ain't cheap and he hasnt really had the money to work on this (no offense man) so I don't see how he could afford it. Trust me, being in college sucks every dime out of you!

I just think the '82 is a more practical trail rig.

 

I want to keep my 82' so bad.. :/
