What is your experience? 2011 dcsb 4x4 with 80k miles. Going with headstrong lift coils in the front and 1.5 aal in rear. What are the chances I will be dealing with vibration issues after the lift? Seems like between the two piece rear drive shaft and front diff needle bearing issue, there is a bit of risk with dealing with vibrations.

What can I do before the lift to predict potential problems?

Should these issues be addressed during the lift install, like shims in the rear?

As ridiculous as it sounds, can you lift one end and test drive? That way it will isolate the vibration location?

    Thanks

I did similar height lift in my DCSB and experienced the needle bearing vibes within 5 miles. I tried diff drop (nope) and carrier bearing shims (nope) before doing the EastCoastGearSupply solution(sigh of relief!). I would just plan on doing the ecgs bushing when you do the lift.

So the cv shaft has significant lateral play by the diff. Maybe 3-4mm. That needle bearing has to be shot. I guess I need to add that to the list.

So should I just do the bushing preventitively? Or lift it an see if there is an issue?

Also, the cv shaft is fine, can I pull it from the diff without unbolting the axle from the hub?

I have a gen 2 DCSB like you. I installed the same kit your looking at from Headstrong at 110k. I’ve been running it for 5k miles and have not noticed any vibration yet.

It seems to be a complete roll of the dice.

From what I read, the needle bearing is a highly likely offender, and replacing it while the lift is in progress saves labor, rather than returning later to do it. (If I have that incorrect, someone will set the record straight)

If it was mine, I think I'd be taking that preventative step.

Yea my needle bearing vibe occured right after I installed my 2in lift.

I would highly recommend doing the new bushing during lift install.

I need to have the bushing installed but Im not sure if I have time yet or I need this done yesterday.
