Love mine... easy install.. Made a roof rack for 20 bucks and some welding. No fuel mileage decrease. No noise. Have a double person sleeping bag, 2 pillows and ladder. LOVE IT20180122_173502.jpg

I'm planning to camp in the tent Saturday night. It's WAY easier to set up and tear down than the clam shell RTT. I can report back at the end of the weekend. Oh, and it's aerodynamic on top of the truck. Not a brick with a cover that can act as a balloon.

I welded up a roof rack to hold our tent and awning. The RTT box doubled as a paint booth for the super duper awesome high quality spray paint job! Only spent one night in it so far but it was great. Spending 2 nights in it this weekend! I'm trying to get as many colors on this truck as I possible can ;)

    Just more additional info

So I have been approached for both a larger model and the wedge tent. If this is something people want to see available than feel free to express interest. Its possible but preferable need to have at least 5 people so an extra can be ordered for the "safety net"

Still working on the awning, Ive only opened mine up twice but ive been working on the improvements for it

Interested, but how do those holdown straps hold up? They look pretty cheasy compared to anything else I've seen. Why don't they use some sort of latch system?

    But are you actually interested?

The hold down straps work, sure they might not be the fanciest item but it’s the safe bet. What you have to remember is I am the middle man in this whole deal sort of like an elected official of a tent group buy. So when it comes to changing something I have to make a sound choice, something that I know will last and sort of idiot proof. The problem with a latch is it has a set closing point, so if your the guy that carries a millon pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, jackets, it won’t exactly close like it should so what the individual ends up doing it over stressing the latch and something fails. Sure they have a ton of options of latches but I don’t have tons of money to waste on trying different latches hoping I find the “one” so for now straps will work even if they look cheesy.

The tent is simple construction, feel free to add latches to the tent you purchase, let others know what you used and how well it works. Be a productive member of the Hardshell RTT community
