Worked at Ford Design for a few years. 6.7L is the way to go. 6.0s and 6.4s are so problem child's and either work fine or blow up at every opportunity. Next would be a Cummins like any one cause they are all awesome.
Tundra might struggle a bit with towing the Tacoma. Very least its gonna be a gas hog.

I'd recommend just renting a Uhaul truck and trailer and tow it home to re-evaluate there.

Only thing good about a dodge is the engine. Pretty much Everything else around it is no bueno.. ask @dakotasyota about his cummins.

6.7's are beast, haven't had a single problem (knock on wood) with ours.
Our trucks don't fit on a uhaul trailer or else I'd agree with that.

Nope. We are over the weight limit but also our wheel base is the exact length of a uhaul trailer, or damn close.

Yeah after doing some looking, it will fit but barely but over the weight limit. I guess I could be creative with my wording...

Don't rent u-haul then. Rent from Penske or enterprise or someone else who has the right trailer

Looks like they use the same trailer, a tow dolly might be best since it has a higher rating

I wouldn't hesitate to use a tow dolly

I think it would be easier, but I need to measure how wide the front end is now

Another issue might be how large the standard tire straps can go. A 37 isn't exactly standard use for one of those.

I rented through Penske and my truck was 600lbs over their trailer weight limit :anonymous:

Towed it like a champ for all 1,400 miles. They didn't care or ask me any questions. But their straps barely fit over my 33's aired up. It could maybe fit over your 37's if you went down to 0 psi.

Air the tires down and buy some extra ratchet straps. You can use them to make up for how short the tire straps are. Then put two off the rear axle to the trailer to sinch that down. The uhaul trailers also have a chain you loop around the t case crossmember. I did a jeep Comanche on 35s like that with no problem from Maryland to New York on a uhaul trailer.

A dolly might work but I hate using them. If you go that route make sure to tie off the steering wheel

One of a couple of pieces, I tried fishing out the others but wasn't happening. The hole is about the size of my hand. Looks like just a pan at this point, diff mounts look fine but its torqued upwards pretty good so it's hard to see any more damage
