Yikes!!! I was thinking of getting an SPod over a SwitchPro. Rethinking that now. What may have caused that?

You know for a long time I preferred spod over switch pros because of the relays and built in safety features. But now I can't see myself ever going back to it, just not the risk I'm willing to take. Even if the truck burnt down, my insurance may deny covering the cost of certain aftermarket items because of what the cause was. That would be a tough situation to be put it, losing your truck and most of the money you put into it because of $300 product.

It is what it is, lesson learned. Just glad it was only $300 lesson vs the I really don't care to know how much I've spent on my truck lesson

Sucks to see/hear, glad it wasnt worse. Did you not have a fusible link between the battery and spod?

Well said. Glad the truck did not sustain major damage due to fire! Now it's either switchpro or wire things up how you want it.

Oh it has one, but yet not any of the spod systems fault. This is a whole system so it comes with all the necessary stuff to make it work

Yup. I plan on going with the switch pro. I originally before I bought the spod I wanted to wire everything up myself but felt more comfortable and safe choosing a system over hoping i knew what I was doing because of the risk involved. I'm willing to accept the risk to most things but electrical fires is not one of them especially knowing it can happen at any time without notice

Just picked up my tickets for expo east for me and the fiance. I'll be there rocking that hardshell tent. I really look forward to seeing that tray in person. I just did the weekend pass as well. I've never been so I don't want to go too crazy the first time.

    This thread ever come together?

Alright a little write up on replacing the AC condenser. To start off my AC system has zero pressure so no worries, so caution is needed and usually frowned upon just emptying the system into the atmosphere.

Alright so step one is to remove the bracket that surrounds the hood latch, two bolts on each side

[IMG]IMG_7122 by chandler coe, on Flickr

Next you can remove the 3 bolts that hold on the hood latch, You can hang this over the top for the time being

[IMG]IMG_5904 by chandler coe, on Flickr

Now its time to unbolt the cross members. Start with the horizontal one (4 bolts, one on each side and two in the middle), and that gives you room to remove the vertical one (one behind where the hood latch was, and one down below)

[IMG]IMG_3443 by chandler coe, on Flickr
[IMG]IMG_3964 by chandler coe, on Flickr

Now the horizontal crossmember can be removed but the vertical one still have the transmission cooler bolted to it. So time to unbolt the cooler, 3 bolts

[IMG]IMG_8522 by chandler coe, on Flickr
[IMG]IMG_2394 by chandler coe, on Flickr

Now you can move the cooler out of the way and remove the vertical cross member, if you choose to leave the sensor on the cross member you can just hang it over the top with the hood latch. Now to unbolt the horns, two bolts. Hang the horns over the top as well.

Now that everything is out of the way we can start getting the condenser out. Start by unbolting the condenser brackets, two bolts one on each side. And follow with the removing the radiator support bolts, 4 in total one on each corner, the bottom ones pictured are a little hidden

[IMG]IMG_7426 by chandler coe, on Flickr
[IMG]IMG_1430 by chandler coe, on Flickr

Now with all that unbolted you can unbolt the AC lines into the condenser, one line top driver and the other bottom passenger. After un bolted just pull the hard line out.

[IMG]IMG_1050 by chandler coe, on Flickr

Alright everything is out of the way, unbolted, and ready to swap.

The condenser slides up from its bottom brackets holding it in place, and push the bottom in towards the engine (thats why we removed the radiator support bolts) and you can pull the condenser right out.

[IMG]IMG_4505 by chandler coe, on Flickr
[IMG]IMG_3038 by chandler coe, on Flickr

Now with the condenser out you can remove the stock brackets and move them over to the new one.

[IMG]IMG_4183 by chandler coe, on Flickr
[IMG]IMG_8994 by chandler coe, on Flickr

Put it back together just like you removed it, and your done. Don't forget to have your AC system evacuated before you refill

[IMG]IMG_0686 by chandler coe, on Flickr

You can skip all of those steps if you just avoid drilling a hole into it by accident :frusty:

Listed the MTRs on CL, going back to hankooks

I thought I already posted this in here but I guess not. I ended up trading in our Infiniti for a Ram two weeks ago. Those that know me probably have heard me talk about wanting a ram with AEV bits for a while, and with the possibility of towing a lot more often and a dealer taking over 10k off msrp most of their trucks I figured it was time. 3500 4x4 Crewcab tradesman Diesel, already prepped for gooseneck/5th wheel so it was the one. So far I love it, and excited for whats to come for it

After a punctured sidewall and what appears to be a manufacturing defect on my Cooper MTPs I threw on a set of MTRs, if they fail to impress I'm going to try out the Dynapro MTs next, only complaint I've ever seen about the Dynapro MTs is they can wear quickly, but then again how many MT's don't?

I ran dynapros for the last two sets, switched to MTRs because I wanted to see what they are all about. I got really good miles out of my dynapros, probably close to 50k on my 35s and still have 40% left.

Didn't you put those MTRs on recently? They are falling apart already?
