How is the roof rack fairing working? Noisy?

 

The prinsu one? its quite. I was going to make my own fairing but never got past buying the material for it, I actually went to go finish it up but cut my finger really good while I was working on it so I said fuck it until another time

 

Had a close call last night.

Last night I was helping a buddy but it was getting pretty late and I promised the wife ice cream so I offered my tacoma to my friend for the night. Well I asked if he was going with us since its going towards his place and he could follow me, on the way I noticed he was no longer behind me in a bad place to be at night in St Louis. He called me and I figured someone ran a stop sign and hit me, but he says the truck wont move at all and my wheel is bent

I get turned around and noticed right away that my rear wheel is turned into the body and assumed the u bolts gave out and the axle shifted. I get over there and my lug nuts have fallen off and my wheel is hanging on at the edge of a single stud, a good enough push and the truck would fall over. I have no tools, no hi lift, but thankfully my factory bottle jack was able to lift up the axle high enough and I had a spare set of lug nuts. I was having trouble getting them set because the wheel was resting on some of them and messed up the threads a little but in the end I got all the lug nuts off.

So where we broke down was one of the worst areas in St Louis, which St Louis in itself is pretty bad. At night time with 3 of us obviously in the wrong neighborhood to be standing around outside of our vehicles. A cop rolls up in a fusion with normal plates on and sits in his car for a bit to keep an eye out, finally towards the end of getting the truck back in order he talks to us for a bit stating if we hung around much longer we have a 95% chance of either getting robbed or shot. I don't think even he wanted to be outside of his car in this area, all while a homicide just happened a block over


Food for thought. Check your lug nuts people, all of mine were tight when I checked the other wheels. Know where your shit is and how to use it, sometimes it's going to matter.

It's been around for a long time, one of the first built 5th gens. We still have some work to get done before some proper pictures

I wish, but I'm buying another wheel to replace this fucked one and tire so I'll probably get a different tire for the spare and swap out the rest when I get the MTRs sold

Leaving friday for CA, Shit is about to be EAF next week. Gonna be a time crunch trying to get everything off the rear end of the truck and mounting the new setup before Expo. Who all is going out to Expo east?
