Side note. Will buying just the tray/flatbed an option aswell or do you have to get the whole package?

 

Yeah it will be available solo, right now I have a target price for the combo but I have to break down the cost differences between the two parts to see how I would determine a price for the bed by itself. Canopy is more material but the bed is more fabrication, lots of variables. I am exploring all my options as far as design and materials used goes right now to see if I can come up with a better US built solution

 

Met up with @MO Tacoma yesterday, welded up a little bash plate in the back to protect the aluminum tray. Still have to figure out some extra bracing but should be plenty strong until I decide what I want to do. I opted to just buy some tube to use a receiver style shackle mount instead of paying $40 for two shackle mounts, but how minimal and tucked up I built the bumper kind of made it difficult to brace the receiver how I originally planned so I have to get creative.

 

Cleaning, organizing my shit. Got the canopy off and tried my new extension legs so I could just roll it inside, much better

 

Out of curiosity, where did you pick up that spacer? I have had people ask me for some. I used to make these but don't have the resources to do that any longer. I'd love to know where to point them.

This is where my rear protection bumper sits, still needs to be cleaned up and add some additional pieces to make it look a little nicer but I’m happy with it. Don’t mind the quick and dirty spray paint, it’s been raining so I wanted to get something over it for the time being

I live in watersmeet MI about 1-1/2 south of houghton. if you're looking for a wheeling trip you'd be pretty disappointed due to the sheer amount of snow the keweenaw peninsula gets, i see this is from december but they still probably have over 300" of snow up there and any trail accessible by vehicle doesn't go very far then is gets demolished by snowmobiles. However, the trip up there in the winter is stunning if you just were taking a road trip. Not much else compares to it here in the Midwest.

Both were taken in North Dakota but the closest city might be difficult since its been so long, I want to say outside Tioga area since thats where I spent most of that year

Thanks. Yeah I spent the better part of 14' throughout the Bakken for the railroad laying down new tracks, good times but I dont miss the wind
