Also got around to swapping out my fairlead since the one got damaged in the accident and left some scarring, Ill clean up the old one at some point but for now id rather not take a chance on tearing up my line.

And bought a paint pen to take care of the deeper scratches on the rear bumper to prevent rust, I then just painted the entire scratched area since it looked better than a few paint lines. Front bumper I'm not worried about since its aluminum, only if the rear could be too...

haha, I'm mainly wanting to do it for cosmetic reasons since I've always liked the big hella/lightforces lights on a front bumper in-between the hoop

Man! cool pics from Top of the World, that trail was pretty tough without snow! Couldn't imagine it with snow!

Thanks! yeah it took quite a bit of effort to where I ended up stopping, I wish I would have pushed forward and continued to the top (only .3 away) but I was worried coming down the hill I couldn't make up because it was too slippery. I was thinking of just backing down using my winch or using my spare as an anchor to slow my fall coming down but it would have taken longer than I wanted since we still had a 17hr drive to make

So you missed the other side of the loop! :( That was good fun, but I don't blame you in the snow. TOTW was one of my fave trails in Moab.

    Merry Christmas to you too!

This time I did, but from my memory I don't think I would want to attempt the other side of the loop in the snow. Those ledges are much larger on the other side lol

Oh so when I went to install the new fairlead I was going to use the bolts that came with it, which were different from the ones I've been using. But the bolts come in from the back and I couldn't quite move fit the driver side bolt in so I tried moving my clutch handle out of the way for more room and it was contacting my bumper. When I was winching on the trail I heard some noise coming from the bumper but figured since it was the first real load that it was just adjusting, well turned out the driver side winch bolts weren't tight enough allowing the winch to slide forward and making too close of a gap for the clutch handle.

Short story- I need to take off my bumper and slide the winch back and tighten those bolts down real good. I need to fix all my wiring anyways

So I sucked it up today and went out in the cold for 5 hours to take care of some shit.

Started taking the front bumper off so I could adjust the winch since it moved out of place, everything is such a tight fit so its a little difficult getting to some of the nuts and bolts
[IMG]IMG_0754 by Chandler Coe, on Flickr
Here you can see how it shifted, since it moved on that side I was unable to move the clutch handle to the other side, it happened while winching so I was still able to bring the line out just not very fast.
[IMG]IMG_0755 by Chandler Coe, on Flickr
So much room for activities now, but thats the winch sitting in the furthest position away still not much room but it works
[IMG]IMG_0763 by Chandler Coe, on Flickr

I ended up playing with the light bar mounts (read: grinded down) so both the light bar and the winch will play nicely together, completely flush now

All ready to go back on, pretty nice being able to do it myself with the aluminum bumper. I did need a little help keeping the wires in check while I lifted it up, still could have managed but my fiancee was near by
[IMG]IMG_0759 by Chandler Coe, on Flickr
Oh and she bought me these a while back ago and I finally got around to putting them on, hopefully I don't lose any more valve caps.
[IMG]IMG_0758 by Chandler Coe, on Flickr
My mess of wires for the winch
[IMG]IMG_0760 by Chandler Coe, on Flickr

It got dark, but I got around to cleaning up those wires for the most part. Still have a couple more to clean up and I accidentally ripped my ground wire out of its terminal for the compressor so that has to be fixed too.

Also finally broke down and used the fittings that came with the snorkel, I bought all the stuff that I thought would work but ended up not having enough room for the silicone fittings that I wanted to use. But its done so whatever

Yeah I had originally planned on just buying a carrier and just bolting it up but then saw a bumper with a jerry can and just sent the message to have that instead of the rotopax

Yeah I bought them for my rack but really didn't care for them after actually using them other than the size/stackablity

I ordered mine with the rotopax mount so my MT bike will clear when I have the bike rack mounted. Jerry can mount would stick out too far. I scored a couple 3 gallon rotopax for cheap too.

Yeah I think my best option with the 35 spare is a spare tire rack. Not ideal but I don't see myself riding like I use to for a while anyways

Do you rub anywhere with the 35's? Considering going that route some day if I can keep it rub free.

Chandler I read through your build for the most part and just wanna clarify before I make a purchase-- You'd recommend the aluminum bumper? Seems like the positives from your thread are 1) Less worry about rust 2) Lighter and easier to install / maintenance solo 3) Held up to a T-Bone like accident. My concern was strength but it seems like yours held up pretty well. Running into trees and other cars are my biggest threats. Will be using some of your great ideas and build in the future!

Define anywhere? Lol Yeah as you can see from the pictures from my trip that I'm missing my rear flares after my tires ate them. After I really take them time I could probably be rub free but I would rather buy bushwhackers and take the time then
