Because Moab Weather sucks in June. Over a hundred degrees every day this year during rock therapy. I probably wont go back if they don't move it to a better time of year.

I don't think they announced the dates yet, but I remember them saying they won't do it in June again. I might be heading down late March

A LOT of people were bitching and moaning this year about how shit the weather was. (myself included) March, April, or May would be great. I'd be there for sure any of those months.

Careful around late march, thats usually when the easter jeep safari is going on. That place is a fucking zoo the week before and after, expect long waits and little to no camping spots

Yeah thats one good thing about going in June, the crowds thin out as the heat goes up. I definitely don't want to be there around EJS.

Thats why I prefer to go in the winter, no people. Every trail is empty, every campsite is available, and you can stop whenever you want without getting in the way of others

Except you ran into snow/ice issues iirc.
Yeah that is true. Some of my friends went backpacking through Utah last spring break and ran into eastern keep safari in Moab.

I only ran into snow/ice on a couple of trails but nothing that prevented me going on, now right after a snowfall is when you'll have issues. Last time I went up TOTW is snowed a day or two prior and I couldn't make it, but it was fun running it with a little extra challenge.

Go when the snow has come to a slow but still cold outside, trails will be mostly dry from the sun and occasional people running them. I also prefer the cold over heat so I guess it comes down to preference, but I would rather deal with less than perfect weather over a large crowd any day of the week

    Cold weather camping/wheeling is best.

I went last November and it was awesome, no crowds anywhere.

Missed each other by a month

Thats my issue with her being in school and a program thats a little more demanding so planning trips always comes down to luck if we wanted to go together.

Best time to have a fire

Took the truck on a small trip this weekend down to the Ozarks, ran what's called the Ozarks highlands trail or high watermark trail/Ozarks overland trail. About 150miles offroad, it wasn't hard by any means but being able to travel that far without being on pavement and surrounded by woods everywhere was nice
