For some reason on my taco the fender flares and front bumber are not the same color as the truck. My truck is black but the fender flares are a different black. So i went to a body shop to see how much it would cost to paint them the same color as my truck and it was about $687. Does anyone have any ideas how to get this cheaper or is it hard to do it myself

Are you saying you don't know why your fender flares and bumper are a different black ie. not painted, but plain black plastic?
You have a non trd, non sr5 model which comes with black fenders and bumpers (see my pics for ref. on a colored truck).
I don't know what it costs to get them painted. I wouldn't suggest doing it yourself as it has been noted that those fenders/bumper do not hold paint well and since they are a textured surface it is not an easy task to make them look the same as the truck.
Post up some pics if you decide to paint them.

Sport wheels added.
being a black truck, I wouldn't think it would look that bad at all. I'd leave it and try to enhance something else on the truck. Embrace the flat black parts...;)
