How do you program/reprogram the maintenance required light on a 2018 TRD Sport. I want to have the lite come on @ 8000miles?

I keep a clipboard on my garage wall with my maintenance records. I am fairly OCD, so I know what upcoming maintenance needs to be done and when. I just reset the Maintenance Light when it comes on.

I tear the top off the box the filter came in and write down mileage and date when the oil was changed. Keep it in the console.

On my 2007 you reset the light by holding down the button to reset the trip meter while starting the engine and continue to hold it down for a few seconds until the mileage reappears. At 4500 miles my "Mt Required" light flashes for a few seconds at start up. After 5000 miles it comes on and stays on. For most of my trucks 15 years I did 10,000 mile oil changes. I changed it every other time the light came on.

For the 1st 9 years I owned it I was driving 20,000 miles/year so I was changing oil about every 6 months. The truck only sees about 10,000 miles/year now. It's not the miles so much, but I'm not comfortable leaving oil in for a year so I am back to 5000 mile oil changes the last few years. Mostly because of time, not miles.
