If you have problems with cat's etc and they find that the plugs have not been changed they will not honor the warranty.

That more than likely is why the coil pack went south.

Do you have a part number? It keeps pulling these up for me, just wanting to make sure these are the copper ones for the 4.0 and not the Iridium 2.7 plugs

Oh I changed mine back at 60k or 70k. They shouldn't be hard taking out. I didn't wait too long, luckily lol

I changed my plugs when I bought my truck around 80k miles. Found the mixed denso/nkg, and the plugs on the driver's side were worn considerably more the the passenger side (I can't remember for sure, but I think Denso was on the driver's side). I had just figured previous owner went to change plugs and got lazy on the driver's side because they're more difficult to get out.

Just got my 30,000 mile service done at the dealer. I know i know, everyone hates the dealerships and blah blah blah. My toyota dealership actually has some very good seasoned technicians. Just let them do it, plus its all done by dealership work so shouldnt have any warranty issues. I got a new air filter, cabin air filter, tire rotation, oil change, new spark plugs, retorqued everything that was supposed to be torqued and it cost just at 200 bucks. I dont think thats to bad considering it was all factory items and done by dealership labor.

Too bad they didn't change fluid in the diffs, t case (and tranny, if a manual), as Toyota suggests for 30K mile maint. Did they even grease the drive shaft??

    Too bad...

None of that is even recommended at 30K under normal operating conditions (except for drive shaft).

Just put in my Denso Copper plugs, man I forgot how much of a pita the coil pack on I think #1 is (first in the left bank) WOW.
I had put in NGK Iridium around 35-40k ago, they looked like that were on their last leg

Ill have to look on my list of things they done. And i will get back to you on that.

The more you go to my dealer, it seems they treat you a little better. Originally at another dealer they were charging closer to $260 for the exact same stuff my dealer done for 200. But i have had all my oil changes and everything done at my dealer. I called another dealer because we were going to be out of town when the 30,000 mile mark was going to hit, and im kind of OCD about getting as close as possible. But the trip got rescheduled so i done it with my regular dealer. Which i probably would have waited anyways because of fear of a different dealer.

why are they using standard plugs and not iridium once? in manual it says only one engine uses iridium tipped plugs. is it not recommended to use better plugs or what

That's one of the reasons I switched to a Volant intake and only take air from the snorkel.
Because the wheel well kicks up too much dirt and gets sucked into the filter.
I have a off road filter and an on road filter and my on road filter looks terrible after just a year.

I think that's more couse iridium have less top arear so spark is in same place. If regular once had tip in same shape it would probably been same kinda spark. That material probably can't take heat like iridium can
