Chris- What is the correct Denso part # for our 4.0? And you're saying to use all Denso's.... even though the factory put in 3x denso and 3x ngk. Make sure i'm understanding all this... What gap do the OEM plugs come at? What does the Toyota FSM spec for gap? I'm also a huge fan of Antisieze on the threads and di-electric grease on the boot/coil connection.

I have all the info here. The NGK's dont hold a gap very well. Which is why I recomend the Denso plugs. :)

No, I haven't opened the hood yet to look... just saw this thread and wanted to ask.... is there a way to tell which plugs you have without taking them out? I can pull the wires off, but will I be able to tell which brand I have?

    thanks.

No way to tell by looking down the plug hole. If you havent changed them yet, the driver side has NGK, and the passenger side has Denso

    Too few to list.
I think I read that someone here is using the E3 plugs. I wonder how that is working out for them so far. Maybe they can chime in.

X2. I know a while back, someone tried the Pulstar plugs and had all sorts of issues.

At 30,000 I switch mine to the long lasting Denso Iridiums. 15,000 miles later no problems, and no drop off in performance. I just like the fact I can go 100,000 miles. I think I paid 8.00 per plug from sparkplugs.com? I think the extra time it takes to install is worth more then the difference in price of plug. If these Iridiums show any decrease in performance I will switch back, but so far so good. I know the 4 cyc come with Iridiums, and I think the Turbo pack has Iridiums. Denso Themselves will recommend Iridiums. I see nothing wrong until I can talk with a engineer from Toyota that designed the engine telling me not to use them.

Well I just bought my '06 Tacoma a few days ago and has 38k on it and no idea the plugs were in need of changing at 30k. I don't have a manual & I assumed they were good for ~ 100k. What else needs to be done around 30k?

Ok, I don't have to worry about 2 out of those 3 since I have 2wd and an auto trans.

However, I have a question about the diff. How do I tell if I have a limit slip?

You should have a sticker that says "LS fluid only" or something like that. The sticker will be on the rear of the diff.

    Not enough
1st plug change @ 57,000, took 1.5hrs. Went back with OEM Denso's. ALL the plugs were at a perfect .040, pre gapped!!!

    Right side old denso's .048-.050
    Left side NGK's .055-.059

Feels like about 10 horsepower gain, for sure.

I have an 07 4x4 V6 TRD. Someone told me that I didn't need to change the plugs until 90K. I believed them. It wasn't until today that I learned that I should have changed them at 30 and 60K. I am now at 82,000 miles and still using the stock original plugs. Haven't noticed any difference in performance but I am getting new ones next week.

You will notice a BIG difference with new plugs. As plugs wear down, the performance diminishes very slightly as time goes on. Imperceptible.

What are CEL's? I have about 7000 miles on the E3's and my truck seems to run fine (37,000 total miles). I didn't think it could be worse than having two brand plugs in the same motor. I was like WTF, does the dude on the left side of the assembly line communicate with the dude on the right? Anyway, so far so good, I figured I'd pull one after 15,000 miles and see how it looked. There was someone else that said they had E3's. I'd like to see that feedback also. Thanks.
