I just changed my plugs at 29,800 miles. The ones in the right are passenger side. The ones in the left is you know. I find it odd that the two sets look different.
I know they are ngk and densos. Is this normal?
And the looks of them are normal?
    Thanks for any feedback

Yes. That's how Toyota does it and several people will follow with all sorts of opinions as to why it was done this way.

Yes, totally normal. Toyota installs both Denso’s and NGK’s in the trucks. Why is one of the great mysteries of the universe.

It deserves its own TV series, like the Mysteries of Oak Island.

Just replace with all Denso plugs and you will be fine.

Or....... replace with all NGKs and you will be just as fine.

    Either brand works equally well.

Or if you want people to think you’ve never changed your plugs, use the Densos and NGKs like you removed:D

I know about the different spark plugs coming from the factory.
I’m wondering about the looks of my used plugs. How one set is a lot darker . Is it the different kind of plug is why it looks like it wore different?

Good Questions...not all sparkplugs are created equal. You can see it here in the photos some plugs run hotter than others - what is important is you've change them all now (same). Are you finding your rig runs smoother....under load? any changes in gas mileage?

you could have waited until 60k miles. The whole changing spark plugs at 30k is just to get more business for service department

A very good question... ones on the right are darker...at least in the photo. Gaps are a little ugly on the right too.

The densos of this model of plug seem to wear better than the ngk counterparts for the 4.0L in our 2nd gens

Opposite is true for the 1st gen taco v6.

I put in all densos. My truck pretty much runs the same. After looking at the plugs, I’m glad I changed them now, another 30,000 would be on the edge for me. Nervous at first about changing them out myself, but it’s a piece of cake. Another 30,000 and I will do it again. Any opinions on a better plug?
