Changed the battery in my 2017 Tacoma. Everything went wrong.

Sounds like the polarity got reversed. You likely cooked some fuses and sent the sensors into the Abiss. Hopefully the ECU is protected and will reboot. Might need a dealer.

Op what have you figured out here?

 

I’ve figured out don’t do anything that’s not life and death in an extreme hurry and I need a tow truck, and that I can expect a repair bill. That’s about where I’m at thus far...

 

Sux man...did this once in my boat. Thankfully a early 90s 4.3L. Only fired the alternator. Hope it's not too expeese GL

Hopefully OP just blew a few fuses and can get it back to normal or its going to be a VERY expensive fix. Easy to put it in wrong if you got a 24 instead of a 24f and was not paying attention to the colored caps or the +/- printed on the battery.

 

Pretty sure he figured out his day got expensive.

Damn I hate to hear it op! Hoping it’s not as bad as it seems at the moment and it’s just a few fuses blown

 

Any luck with checking fuses? If it ran after you reconnected the old battery, there might be a chance.

 

Hopefully that he shouldn’t try anymore battery changes

I reversed polarity on an led once. It worked fine and lasted a long time before it died old.
