I had to do some hunting to find my DC in Jersey all the dealers had either sport or off-road equipped taco's. I just wanted a plain sr5#2 4x4 DC.

they will, but in the next year or two it will probably be the big changes. Maybe a different body style, engine, transmission, interior, etc...

I thought that toyota likes to do about 5 years for a specific model before they do any updates. Again, this is all just speculation, but I have a feeling that there haven't been many changes to the Tacoma since 2005. I think they are due.

are you spending $350/month on maintenance? If not, I'd enjoy the lack of a truck note for another year. I'm not trying to be preachy either, just saying what I would/should do.

I feel like the 4.0 engine should be getting better gas mileage. Many manufacturers are adding functionality that shuts down multiple cylinders to save gas on the highway. I don't think that it is a far stretch for Toyota to start adding that to the next major Tacoma change.

I'm pretty happy with my Tacoma. Most of the complaints I had about it are fixed with the 2009. If you really want a new one, I'd wait to see what the 2010 model has. It would only be a year.
