They sell it for top dollar because it works. If you wanted a gimmicky vehicle for less that's going to cost you much more in upkeep, you should have bought another Ford :p

Twin supercharged 427 side oiler

But seriously the only things I would like to see added are heated leather seats and maybe a power sunroof.

    • Moon Roof - Don't care - I'd rather get aftermarket and get it installed where I wanted.
    • Heated Seats - Don't care
    • Automatic folding rear view mirros - "I'm not lazy" - +1
    • Rear Sliding window - Already have It too.
    • Some basic kind of electric rear/front window defroster - Never needed it for the rears.
I'd like to see auto-up function on the window... and heated mirrors.

NO MODS YET! 20" Enkeis with NT420 performance tires coming soon...inspired by genxer36.
I'm glad I didn't buy Ford. they asking congress for money and that pisses me off enough to never buy from the big three again. I'm happy with my taco. But wait, you called me a troll and said I didn't even have a taco. Right...like I would waste my time asking questions about taco-related mods.

Do the world a favor and go drive off a cliff. But leave your tacoma so I can claim it.:D

the only thing i would like is for the rear window to be like the tundra (auto up/down). that was one of my favorite features on my 4runner.

A manual transfer case, my truck has heated mirrors, but a factory option would be nice too. As stated above, if you want all those fancy gizmos, go buy a chevy or a caddy, and take it in every week to have some electronic part fixed. A Tacoma is a truck and should stay that way!

Yes I do. Composite bed that reduces weight and doesn't rust? Awesome!
Brake drums work fine, and it's been mentioned around here many times why Toyota hasn't gone with disks and it makes perfect sense to me. Manual rear sliding window and power seats? More weight to suck your gas away. Besides, regular seats can be adjusted much faster than power seats, and there is no motor on them to break and pay money to replace.
Loud engine? I love it. Tells me how my truck is doing. If you don't like it turn the volume on the 6 disk JBL sound system up higher...

i wonder if toyota would ever market an 'upper level' mid size truck.

Here in Canada, we have heated leather seats available, why that's not on the US order sheet is beyond me.

Some things I'd like to see from a do-everything work truck perspective:

    Factory Navigation w/iPod interface
A 110v outlet in the center console to plug in your laptop
Bluetooth handsfree Connectivity for your phone
Moonroof would be kinda gimmicky but cool
Cargo bed light (didn't even realize they don't have this)

The only thing is for what i just mentioned, you'd be tacking on probably $3k to the cost of a truck that already costs $39,000 for a full load. I don't think Toyota would market a small truck that's $40K+ and will just leave those options in the bigger, more expensive Tundra.

A 'cold weather package' would be brilliant. I think regardless of trim level, there should be a package for around $1500 that includes:

    Block Heater
    Heated seats
    Heated rear window and mirrors
Rear heater controls and ducts built into the centre console (doublecab)

I bought the tacoma because I wanted a reliable truck that would get me from A to B with little to no hassle. Would server to carry my sh1t. It's perfect just the way it is and it has nothing I need that I can't add with better aftermarket parts.
