Changing a u bolt

    Is it okay to change a u bolt without lifting the truck onto jack stands and taking the wheels off? If I took the u bolt off, will the leaf spring pop out of place? I’m replacing a temporary u bolt with an actual one.

    Yes, best way to change it. Should only be torqued with it on ground also.
