Hello, not long ago I think I saw someone in here either selling or have the idea on turning the Back up light into the turn signal. Does anyone recalling that and can share that post thread?

    Thanks

I’m getting them ready as we speak!
This is essentially what the kit will be(in red)
    upload_2019-1-21_12-10-50.jpg

It is a “T” harness that plugs in between the stock tail light and truck wiring. It will make the “horseshoe” of the brake section a FULL horseshoe(instead of halfway illuminated like Stock). But more importantly, it will relocate the turn signal down to the reverse bucket and utilize an AMBER LED. Reverse will still be functional thanks in part to the dual color switchback bulb.

This will be a 100% plug and play kit.

While it’s not as in depth as my full custom retrofitted tail lights, I think it’s a great alternative and a ton cheaper.(plus it can be installed/removed in a matter of minutes). Not to mention it’s much more functional than stock!

How much usable light does the switchback LED produce when in reverse?

More than stock, About comparable to most “drop in reverse LEDS”on the market.
Either way, it’s an upgrade over the factory. If you want more light I suggest going with the “upgraded kit” that I will have available which will use VLED Tritton V6’s. (But will require some minor trimming of the factory reverse hole) only so much bulb you can fit in the stock opening.

Would it be possible to make the brake lights the full “horseshoe” but still have the blinker be where it is stock? Kind of how most cars share a brake/blinker in the same bulb

Yes that’s possible. You would have to purchase another module(tail as turn) from diode dynamics and wire it in.

Holy cow this is awesome! I hate when turn signals are hard to distinguish between the brake lights. Is there a thread on these yet?

Looks like a great kit similar to what I did except I went more euro and took a wire from the fogs up front so when they come on the uppermost left comes on bright and constant.

So... what if you're reversing with hazards on?

That’s the only minor tradeoff to a switchback bulb, the amber will take priority over white. If you reverse with you hazards on often, I would just stick to the stock turn signal location. Or get a set of AUX backup lights that will come on with reverse and/or manually
