    @Bravisimo
My dealer had the additive and was actually Toyota brand, 4oz bottle. I don't remember cost but it wasn't bad. If you need to really watch your spending you may be able to find another LS additive to save a dollar or two.

Rear diff crush washers are part # 12157-10010 and can be found at dealer ... at least they were for my truck. Confirm with dealer.

Torque value for drain and fill plug is 36 ft. lbs.

This info has been pulled from pg 1 of this thread

Dudes - I've tried reading through this entire thread and I guess I have a specific questions because I can't find the exact answer.

I have a 2007 base model 4x4 with 4L v6, 6sp manual. I bought Redline 75w90 GL4 Synthetic oil with friction modifier for LSD's. Do I still need to add the 4oz of friction modifier? I drove it to work this morning and there were no problems. There is, however a sticker on the diff box that says LSD oil only and that's what I put in.

    Thanks for y'alls help!

No. Only 2005-2008 TRD Sport models need modifier.

Nice writeup and all the supplemental info is great too! Read the thread start to finish. Phew...
29000 km. Might be early :notsure: but I tow a bit and it's piece of mind! Lucas Synthetic 75w 90. Just rear and tcase for now, they only had 5 jugs. Front in the next couple weeks hopefully.
None of the plugs were hard to get off really, lucky me!?

I tried to revive an old "Vibration/Shudder" during acceleration thread but no responses yet. Need help. Just replaced front/rear dif & transfer case with Mobile 1 75-90 that has LS additive in it (I have an SR5 so no LS diff) and after doing so I now feel a vibe/shudder when accelrating from a stop while turning right or left. I also rotated my tires for the first time in almost 10k miles. Cant find any rubbing & tires look to be wearing evenly.

Any pointers to look for or threads y'all can point me to?

Not sure if this is your issue, but some diffs do not like synthetic fluid. If you read through the thread, you will find several posts of issues using synthetic. Owners switched back to dino and the shudder went away....

I must have missed that. I saw a lot about guys with LS Diffs needing to still add LS additive even when using oil with LS in it.

Do we know if this shudder can be drastic if not addressed right away? I am limited on time for the next week or two but if needed I will absolutely fix it ASAP.

Thought I read somewhere in this thread that oils marked as LS were merely 'compatible' with the LS additive and diffs, but didn't actually have the additive in the oil?

Someone with better knowledge is sure to chime in soon. Good luck!

This morning I changed the differential oil in both my 07 Tacoma and my 09 Tundra, I used CarQuest 80w-90 and bought the 7oz CRC lsd additive for the Taco. When I drained the Tundra it just looked like normal gear oil, but I noticed when I drained the Taco the oil was sort of frothy looking. Is that because of the lsd additive?

Should look normal with the additive. Water may have possibly gotten inside the differential at some point which can cause the frothy fluid.

Washers = good idea. Bolts = not necessary if they are in good shape.
