What kind of tube to you use? Does it fit over the mouth of the bottle?

Go to Lowe's and get some 5/16" inside diameter clear tubing.

The mouth of my transmission oil is about 1" diameter and it doesn't have the pointy lid like the other gear oils...

You need one anyway...or something similar...to add transmission fluid to these trucks.

I have one, I used it for my diff oil, I just picked up another one for my tranny. I just wanted to see if there was another option but I guess this is my best bet

Haven't used many but I think generally they all work pretty well. I'd expect they work even better with a more viscous fluid like gear oil.

Basically a plunger with a seal that rides inside that metal body. Works pretty much as you'd expect it too. I think it'll drip a little if you're not careful but they're fine. It'll pump a lot of fluid quickly too.

    Check reviews I guess.

has great reviews, some of the others -- not so much

I'm having a hard time getting an accurate count. To change the oil in my manual transmission, transfer case, and both differentials...how much oil should I get from Autozone?

Also, the Haynes manual recommends 75w90 for the front diff but 90w for the rear diff. Can I get away with just using 75w90 for everything?

Yeah you'll be okay with 75-90 but for FL you could honestly run something a little heavier most of the time, IMO.

I think it's what 3 qts in the rear, 2 qts in the trans (6spd?), 1 qt for the t-case, and almost 2 for the front diff.

I want to say 8 qts but I can't remember.

    Too few to list.
Yep, it's about 8 quarts to change out everything.

I found the elusive page in the Haynes manual.

    Manual transmission, 4 cyl, 4WD......2.3qts
(Manual xmission, 4 cyl, 2WD..............2.7 qts)
    (Manual xmission, V6.........................1.9 qts)
    Transfer Case..............................1.1 qts

    Differential, Front (4WD)................1.6 qts

    Differential, Rear (4WD).................3.0 qts
    (Diff, 2WD except PreRunner...............3.5 qts)
    Total..........................................8.0 qts

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma

Best tool by far to use for this. Beats a little screw on pump any day.

When I did my 30,000 I used a little screw on pump. It felt like I pumped 1000 times to do 8 qt :eek:s.
