Wondering how hard it is to change a light bulb in the heater/fan control switch under the radio in an 06 tacoma? Any help would be great!

just pry it out. there are no screws on it. just gotta pull on it. I like to pull the knobs off then grip the plastic under them with my fingers. once you get it out there are two bulbs on the back. they are brown round things and you simply twist them out with a flat head screw driver.

like prseth said, not hard to change. But the price of a new one from the dealer is something like 10-15 bucks a bulb I think.

Thanks for the info guys! Just got the truck and didn't want to tear anything up so I thought I would ask. Went to pull the switch off and when it came out the light came on, so I guess it was just a loose connection. Saved me a few dollars!

Are there led replacements available for these anywhere?

Probably too late to help, but... Went to the local dealer and I didn't have to pay anything for my '08 Taco because the dim bulb behind the parts counter couldn't figure out what I needed, much less come up with the part. I started checking all over the internet and the best price I could come up with for an OEM bulb & socket was $7.95 with $10.00 shipping! Finally went to Radio Shack and got their part no. 272-1092, 2 12 volt bulbs. Took the old bulb out of the brown socket, wrapped in a new bulb (which is definitely smaller) and now my air direction dial is lit up again. The bulbs from RS cost $1.99 for 2.
