i am mid oil change on my 08 taco 4.0L.

i got some Valvoline full synthetic 5w-30 in a 5 qt jug and its not quite enough. they only had 5w-20 in the same oil in quarts. is it ok to put that in with the 5w30 i already put in or should i go try to find some more 5w30 somewhere else? i am leaving for a 1000 mile round trip vaca in a few hours.

I really don't think it would make that much difference as long as it's the same brand and your only adding about 6/10 of a quart

Youll be fine, the same thing has happened to me. your oil will just be a tad bit thinner. Nothing to worry about.

It will be fine with a half quart of 5w-20

It wont even be a half quart. Its' less than 1/4 of a quart bc the jug he purchased is actually 5.28 quartz and he only needs 5.5 quartz in the engine. 5.5-5.28=.22. Less than 1/4 of a quart.
