These motors can barely make it 150k without major issue.

You can buy the most expensive oil and change it every 3k and the motors will still have the same issues.

And I don't remember me saying you are wrong to do so. I did my analysis and came up with my method as you did yours. Also, no where did I say to do what I do either. Not understanding the opposition here

Maybe actually post what oil you use and intervals, or something relevant if you want to keep this alive. Maybe something pertaining to my original posting?

I thought I had. Phillips Choice 0W-20 syn blend in my 2023 Tacoma V6 auto (2053 total miles so far) and 2014 RAV4. Will change around 2,500-3,000 miles once I do several break-in changes of about 1,000 miles each. May decide to go around 2,000 between changes since I've moved to a different locale and doing less interstate trips of 500 miles each way.

I actually am a strong believer of a hard break in with early first oil change, not 20 miles early but with my 2019 Subaru STi I did the first at 1000. That car doesn't see 6k miles per year so i change annually, in fact it doesn't even have 6k on the odometer yet. On my motorcycles, which requires first oil change at 600 miles (yeah digest that one for a bit) I do a hard break in and do the first change at 250 miles. Trust me when I say there's plenty of visual support from what drains out of a motorcycle the first time to understand why, gotta love wet clutches! I plan to treat the tacoma the same as my Subaru with a hard break in and first change early, second at 5k, and then every 5k from that point on. Having the luxury of a full service garage makes a difference in my maintenance decisions.

At 500 miles I did the hard acceleration and deceleration in 2nd gear twice and twice in 3rd gear. Full throttle. I initially ease in to the throttle...so no burnout (I have a manual).

Early oil change in automotive engines? ....today not so much. Motorcycles yeah, many share the same engine oil as in their transmissions. As those gears mesh in, you don't want those excess gear metal filings floating around in your engine.
I'm a not big believer of idling a new motor for any length of time. It's pedal to the metal, short wide open blasts to make cylinder pressure needed to seat those new rings. Also no 100% synthetic till at least the next oil change.

On 10K vs 5K oil changes. TIME is just as important as miles. I have no issue at all with 10K oil changes as long as those 10,000 miles don't take a year or more. I've done 10,000 mile oil changes on my 07 Tacoma for most of the time I've owned it. But for most of those years was driving about 20,000 miles/year.

I don't put that many miles on my truck now so I tend to change it at either 10,000 miles OR 6 months whichever comes 1st. And right now, that is working out to about 6000-7000 miles in 6 months. It has done me well for almost 240,000 miles. I've never added a drop of oil to the engine between oil changes. It still doesn't use any.

The guy in North Carolina with the 1 million mile + Tacoma (he was approaching 1.5 million last time I saw anything) uses 8000-10,000 mile oil changes. He is on his 2nd engine, the 1st one lasted almost 900,000 miles and he only replaced it due to a bad head gasket. No oil related problems. The 2nd engine was from a scrapyard and had 100,000 on it when he put it in. He changes oil once a month regardless of miles, but that works out to 8000-10,000 miles.

How long can you keep oil in the engine without changing it. It is only one example, but the mechanic I use had a customer go over 100,000 miles on the factory oil before the engine died. A local man bought his wife a new car shortly before he died. He had always done the car maintenance and his wife didn't know any better. The car made it to just over 100,000.

This is inaccurate. Time actually does not matter much at all. As long as the oil isn’t accumulating water or gas, it can easily last longer than a year. Two or three years between changes are potentially safe as long as the filter is also checked.

If you don’t take only short trips and don’t live in a high humidity area, time is not a problem.

Imo, you should never leave the same oil in your engine for over 2 years whether mostly short trips, or not, nor it matters where you live. Every time you start that engine, it accumulates some condensation when it cools which can make the oil more acidic as it combines with all the combustion by products....at least thats what I've been told by these oil reps.
