Changing Oil on a 2.4L Tacoma

    so the service manual said 5.8qt, is it okay just to put 6qt?

    multiple 1st gens
    Put in 5.5 and measure on the dipstick. Add more as needed. You don't want to overfill.

    3rz to 2Rz bebuilt block and new heads
    No......if I change without the filter....its 4 and 1/3 qts.....

    So with filter just under 5qts

    I use 1/4 qt of the lucas synthetic additive.....so I have to eagle eye it every time...


    The number they're giving you is for 3rz.......you know the one with the bigger taller oil pan that has to fit around the 4X4 crossmember/steer rack.....


    Same thing.....jack asses tell you the auto trannys use 2 qts.....
    that's only 7 and 1/2 qts short of reality....
