First time doing this. Any tips or little things i need to know about? I've done my u-joints before, so I know I have to mark the shaft to keep it balanced, nd not to put the shaft in a vice...anything else?

Not really, it's a pretty straight forward job if you're already familiar with pressing u-joints. I had to beat on the yolk with a heavy rubber mallet for a while to finally get it off but otherwise, it's not an overly difficult job, just time consuming.

I had to use a 3 jaw puller that I rented from napa...but, mine was trashed for over a year.

Oh, good call. My dad had a 2 jaw puller in his garage that we used to get the old bearing off.

Yeah I was stuck on that one & napa was closing in 20 minutes. Made a quick walk downtown & lucked out

I have to start the job tomorrow. it's weird too....It doesn't have play in it...but when I got the truck up on the lift and put it in gear and let it turn...the thing squeals like a pig.
