I’m not against any oil brand.
The claims of 10k - 15k changes are fine. But the time will come, and it will, where you need to check, and add to, between changes. A lot of people don’t check between changes. This is where some people are going to get bitten by the 10k+ OCI.

I admit, I am not at all an oil loyalist. I’ll dump any brand it in there as long as it meets the standards in the manual. And ideally, I choose the one that meets the standards and cost less on the list.

I will stick with the 5k OCI and check it once or twice between changes.

all the 4th gen talk 'around the corner' is funny to me. historically, they don't update generations for near 10 years, putting the 4th gen release around 2027.

we've got a ways to go for that.

It's mainly because Toyota's schedule was released/leaked before the panicdemic and both the 4Runner and the Tacoma were supposedly going to have moved to the new global/universal platform that Toyota is implementing. Hell, even the Tundra and Sequoia were delayed by a year on that. Before the hysteria they were all on track for release in the early 2020s.

We'll see, but I'd bet it's about 10 months or so. Not years barring some weird supply issue stuff. I mean we are at year 8 of the current gen. Is an 8 year model, or 9 year calendar run really any different?
