    Hey everyone!
Today when I was driving my Tacoma I had noticed that I wasn't able to change songs through my steering wheel controls. I was able to change songs and modes(bluetooth, stereo, cd) and volume with no issues. I came home and turned the truck off and figured that maybe it was just minor. Tonight I went out again and the same issue. I tried to change the songs on the stereo and the songs would take 5 or more seconds to change or not change at all. I had noticed that every time I turned on the truck my phone would start at the same song even though the song on my phone was different. I have an iPhone 4S and have had Ios7 since the update with no issues. It didn't matter if it was on bluetooth or iPhone(plugged into the USB), still had issues.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem? Is there anything that I can do? If not, I am just going to phone the dealership tomorrow and take it in and have them deal with it.

    In advance, thanks!

I just had an issue changing songs the day before yesterday. The only thing I did different was I tried to change songs before the screen was loaded (could already hear the song playing, but just had the Toyota logo on screen). So, I waited until info came up and it wouldn't change after that via the wheel controls. tried it several times during my short trip and it didn't work. When I got home I shut off truck and came back out later to try it and it worked fine. I don't know what that was about, but just assumed that I triggered something when I tried to change it too soon. It's never done it before, and I didn't drive it today or yesterday to see if it's done it again.

I had the same problem. I just turned off my phone and then turned it back on.

Mine did it when I updated to ios7. You need to go to Bluetooth settings and choose your truck and forget this device. Restart your phone and pair it with your truck and it should work again. I've had to do this twice, I guess it's a glitch with ios7.

On mine, I wasn't using Bluetooth at all. I have a memory stick in the USB that I have around 797 songs on. In fact, I didn't even have my phone in the truck at all. Plus my phone is an android Evo 3D. I really think mine was a result of pushing it too soon. With all those songs, I end up using it a bit, and that was the only issue I've had so far. All the other functions on the wheel worked fine, mode & volume etc.

On yours it sounds like some issues with your Bluetooth and perhaps the update like others have mentioned. Like Colt mentioned, maybe try restarting your phone and see if that helps.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
I had same problem a few weeks ago. I called the service dept at the dealer and she said it is common on 2013's. Well it fixed itself after I turned the truck off, so I didn't go to the service appt, just called, and she said she would note it in my records, and if I had the problem again to just bring it in.

I've had this problem twice, usually due to updates on the phone. Delete the Bluetooth profiles from the headunit and the phone, restart phone, re-pair. Should be good to go.

honestly the best way to do it on the iphone is to go into settings and just reset network settings. it is faster and cleaner then forgetting device and repairing.

Took mine to the dealer today. They said the cord that you plug the iPod cable into that goes to the stereo was coiled up for some reason. When the straitened it out it worked fine but when they put it back in it coils up.

I really don't believe that is the reason but they ordered a new cord and will install it next week. I'll keep you updated.

The next day after I posted this thread it had fixed it self. I reseted everything on the phone and re-installed the phone back on the stereo just in case. No issues.

My whole radio turns on and off periodically by itself. It's annoying.

I've also experienced this annoying issue. Just tonight on my way home suddenly it would not skip songs on command. I ended up turning my iphone off and on again and it seemed to work.

This is not the first time that the BT audio has been finicky.
