Hi, I have an 03 that I picked up after its frame got replaced last February. I'm contemplating a suspension shake up and have questions.

-I have an reletbless plate bumper going on next month. Should I upgrade the shocks to 5100s with stock springs? Will the 2.5" lift be absorbed by the weight of the bumper?

-if the front goes up should I then upgrade the rear leafs (which are new from the frame replacement)? The general HD springs look good for my purposes and wanted to know if the rake will be excessive or if I'd need a new rear shock?

-any suggestions for a highway truck?

Surely somebody's done this. Sure you have! And I won't call you Shirley.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
Proper lift, and especially lift to compensate for additional weight, should be done with proper spring rates, then a damper selection to control the new spring.

Achieving the goal stated here by preloading the OE spring (or any spring really) doesn't give the best results.

While you may get some response here in your generational forum, I think you'll find lots of data, and maybe more responses, in the Suspension Forum
