So I want to put in a Busmann fuse/relay box, but the place where people usually put the box/bracket assembly it is where the Charcoal Canister is on my '98 2.7l. I think in the later years it was moved under the bed.

Has anyone moved theirs to under the bed, or to the left of the engine bay where there's some space?

Yeah I know I can just mount the fuse box to the top of the factory fuse box, but that's no fun! :bored:

This is where I put my blue sea fuse block. The hood just barely clears it, but it works. I made a little metal bracket that you can see at the bottom of the picture. It looks the same at the top. I used some long bolts with long spacers from the pinch weld that is on the firewall to mount it. The bottom just sits on the charcoal canister edge.

Oh did you scoot the charcoal canister forward? Did you have to extend the lines or anything? Nice.

I didn't move anything, it just barely fit there.

You could potentially move the charcoal canister to the other side. I think you would have to extend 3 hoses and some wiring for the vsv's

From the ol' custom tacos days, it was reported that a removal of the canister, capped lines and 10k ohm resistors to fool the ECU worked for full removal.. However, I would just extend the wires to the various sensors and reroute your vacuum hoses to push it forward.

The California SMOG technician I bring this truck to in a month will have an aneurysm if he saw that
I'm probably going to end up relocating it to the left side, there's a lot of space since I removed the stock intake.

So I just went to install my redline hood struts and my fuse box is in the way. I guess I will have to find a new spot.
