I may be able to slip the 4 screws off the crossmember at the mid and transfer and just drop the mid? I took some stuff for my pain today and really wanted them on. Wasn’t clear headed. What happens when your body starts falling apart..I just want to get the Taco in the snow and see how this 3rd gen handles itself!

I did that a bunch today but the snow wasn't letting the weight sensor things trigger the lights. I sat at one for almost 10 min then after that just said f it and considered them stop signs.

I've been to that Harris Teeter. My wife stayed in a house just down the road for a summer internship.

Sitting at the dealer today..15,000mile service but asking them about the horrible “clunk” I occasionally get under heavy breaking and also the over reving and some gear searching. The revs usually are on the trail and actually gets annoying at times..
Some typical 3rd gen tranny issues..toying between pedal commander and OVTune, but don’t know if I want to completely reprogram the computer?
    My luck nothing is duplicated..lol

    Turd Gen ftw.

But seriously, I've never had any of the "typical" issues that others have...guess I'm lucky :notsure:

Also, you should be manually selecting your gears on the trails.

Yeah.. I either leave it in 2.or downshift to 1 for the downhill..
It just revs on up before it wants to shift from 1 to 2 when I leave it in S2..

But the “clunk”! I use my brake like I have an egg under the pedal, and wince if I have to stop quickly..

    I don’t have the hwy stutter/borderline shutoff.

And I have tried to give it time to learn my driving before I really wanted to do anything. But I do miss my old 2000 manual at times!

Have you lifted it yet or done any suspension work?

The "rev hang" in 1st (assuming you are in 4lo) is normal.

Can't help you with the clunk, haven't ever experienced that.

So I can think of a couple things that could be the clunk. Suspension clunking because of weight transfer, caliper or pad shifting under harder more abrupt braking, or rear shoes shifting.
Mine will review hang too somewhat in 4lo 2nd gear depending on throttle position and acceleration.

Yep..Suspension clunking! NONE of my U bolts were torqued from the factory. They couldn’t replicate it till after the diagnostic and relearn tests and were checking their work, then it presented itself to them. They retorqued the whole suspension..Well at least it is tight until I can get my upgrade!

I thought it might be the crazy shifts from this transmission since it only occasionally did it on a downshift..

I will try starting in S1 and shifting to S2 next time on the trail in 4lo to see if it helps!
