yea it works pretty well. you cant see it but it attaches to a crank winch like the ones on boat trailers. if i had to do it again i would use cable to negate any streching from the rope. i ended up having to tie them each at a different length to negate the longer ropes stretching more than the shorter ones. i had the rope laying around though and it works well enough.

Very nice! Did something similar as well. Makes it very easy to load/ unload by myself.
    Edit: hi from Cramerton!

so i need some help. i dropped my spare tire last night to get ready to install my HC rear bumper and noticed that is dry-rotted and has some serious side wall indentations from being really tight up against the frame for 6 years. even though im running 33s now im going to go up to 35s fairly soon so im just thinking about going ahead and replacing the spare with a 35. question is what tire do i want. i currently have the KO2s and have been pretty dang happy with them, but am looking at the ST Maxx too. anybody have any input?

Really just depends on your budget, needs, and preference. I had BFG A/T's and hated them, way too stiff. Put some nitto trail graps on recently and love them. The mastercraft courser mxt is a great option on a budget that I considered. I have heard good things about the new Cooper stt pro's. I have had MTR's on my 4Runner for a couple years and really like them.

my only concern with going to something like the STT or MTP is the longevity of the tire. im a weekend wheeler so still need a tire to last.

Almost forgot, I saw a '12+ (I think) 2nd gen dcsb MGM at scaleybark/south Blvd yesterday. Looked like it was lifted with eibach front coils.

yea the discount tire in my gastonia has a 315 75 16 KO2 in stock so i think im just going to stay with them. plus it will match my current tires even if it is a size larger.

well i just realized and later confirmed on here that i cant even feasible use a 35" tire on my spare wheel because the backspacing is horrendous, it would rub like crazy if i used it up front. i guess it would be possible to only use it on the back and then if i do lose one up front just swap it for a rear one and then put the spare on the back. However, that would be a pain so i might as well pony up and just buy a matching wheel.

Lol I wasn't sure what your spare had to do with it, I guess you have a swingout on the new bumper?

I'd recommend staying with KO/ KO2. After about 5 sets of KO's over the years, I tried ST Maxx this time (going to KO2 next time though). ST Max is not a bad tire, but after only 9000 miles on them, I can tell they are wearing out faster. They're better off road but not by much at all.
