Or you can learn to drive the truck on stock suspension with decent tires, and forgo the lift kit for a while. You'd be surprised at how capable these trucks are in stock form.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't do nearly as well at URE if I weren't forced to think and be methodical about the lines I need to take, as I don't have nearly the clearance or protection as others on here...only tires.

True. Most of mine is aesthetic anyways. Thats why I considered the RC for a while, but just was going to do the OME for better performance long term. I dont do crazy off roading, hunting, light trails, mountain trips etc

Hey man, if you are willing to teach me and guide me, I dont mind doing that! But, this is where I lose my 'man card' when it comes to these things. Never have done much work on any vehicle, so as long as you dont mind really guiding me. lol

I was more methodical not that I've been upping the armor game I'm getting more ballsy with lines giving er hell and getting out of situations. But it does allow you to be a better driver in that you aren't reliant on that stuff to save you so you pick good lines and get really good at knowing your truck more and learning the feel of things. Like old Dale use to say he never wore a closed face helmet because he wanted to feel the draft. Along those lines is what I'm talking about feel.
I've taken quite a few stock guys out this season and gotten them through some of the harder trails and they are amazed as well.

Ok. So still can't decide on setup. Read 100s of posts. Can anyone chime in on their setup, pros and cons. I am going with the 888 coil. Just need to decide on shocks. (5100, 5100 extended or OME) Also, is there a major lift difference between the 5100 and the Extended kit from Headstrong. Or is it more for the down travel? Not doing any crazy off-roading. Light trails, mountain trips, etc. Would like to fit 33s with minimal cutting and closest I can get to 3in

Have a 2nd gen, but am running the OME 887/Bilstein 5100 setup. Minor trimming and running 33’s. The extended is for down travel, if you get an expo style leaf spring or extended travel leaf pack. Close to 3” lift in front and I’m running allpro expo leaf pack in rear, so I still have some rake. Can’t stand the bro lean.

Not 100% sure, but I started with a single aal and didn’t need an extended shock, but switched to a full expo pack and did. Hit up Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road. She can inform you on what you would need. Super customer service!

3" lift on the 3rd gen and you will need upper control arms.

Also, tire fitment depends on tire size, wheel width and backspacing, alignment, cab mount clearance..etc etc etc...there is no magical formula.
