You don't wanna go the first couple weekends.

Have you been before, any experience wheeling? Just curious.

    Cool.

My and @ovrlndkull usually go on Sundays...I'm still relatively new to it, but have gained enough experience in two years to promote myself from "newbie" to "novice"

Skip doesn't want to wheel with a bunch of newbies this year though :boink:

Usually everyone meets up at the Outpost around 8-9am, hit the trails by 10am...unless you end up waiting on the T4R group, they are always considerably late.

Let us know what you do. I am in the same boat and don't want to pay my dealer or 4wp, but i dont exactly have all the tools/know-how for it to make sense for me to do it.

Will do. So far I’ve been most impressed by Tarheel 4WD in Midland, NC. It’s about 30 minute drive from where I am in Matthews. Someone actually answered the phone on the first try, and they got one of their shop guys on the line and he and I talked about the setup I’d like to do, and he was very knowledgeable and seemed experienced working with Tacomas. I’m going with a fairly basic lift and he didn’t try to sell me on anything more expensive, which I appreciated, and the labor quote seemed fair too. Will let you know if I end up going with them and how it goes.

Not sure how far Metalworx design and fab is from you but they are in Hickory another member had a lot of work done by them and they seem really good.

Checkout rides of conover. They do nothing but lifts, accessories wheels and tires. And I’ve yet to find cheaper prices

Just a quick question for you all while I am waiting for suspension components to get back in stock to order..
Are you all putting the clamshell in the driver cv/needle bearing from ECGS when you do the lifts or just wait and see for the noise/vibration?
I am between 5100’s and 887s or the 5160/6112 Bilsteins right now..
I am in the 17 OR DCSB..

You can take it to ECGS and they’ll do it for ~$160.

I had them do mine a while back.

If not, the tool is floating around somewhere in SC right now.

Cool! That isn’t a bad price for labor. They made it look easy in their video. If I paid for the tool and my time that is really worth it. For that price I may just do a wait and see?
    Thanks!

To be honest, if I were you, I'd just go ahead and go get it done. You know that you'll 95% likely need it anyway.

After your last post I sent them a message on cost. I figured 50/50 on needing it done. Will probably need an alignment after and then again after suspension..They actually said would probably be better to go ahead, but then also just wait to see if I really needed it after the suspension and ok to drive for a little while if I develop a vibration..Really don’t wish to do more than really needed, and would like to prevent a cv failure at the same time!
I really hope that ubolt clunk when cold goes away after the new gear!

May as well do it while you are doing the lift kit install. You can probably get a few guys together and do them all in the same day at someones house.
